Sara Bareilles – Corner Lounge ARCHIVE: 2007 AND 2009!

Sara Bareilles arrived in the Corner Lounge in 2007 with simply a portable keyboard, no entourage. She was set to open for Maroon 5 at JPJ (The Hives were awkwardly but awesomely sandwiched in-between).  She did a great version of her brand-new single “Love Song” for us that went on to become one of the big hits of that year & she became one of the biggest pop stars around.  In 2009, we did a session at Virginia Arts with an audience of Corner VIPs before she played UVA’s Springfest (w/ Grace Potter opening). She went on to sell out The Pavilion in 2014 and we checked in with her via phone. Cut to 2016, as she celebrates not only her 37th birthday this week but also a Grammy nomination for Best Musical Theater Album for her work on Waitress!  Photos courtesy of Jack Looney.
