Overturned cement truck blocks Route 22 for hours

(CHARLOTTESVILLE – WINA)    A cement truck overturned on Route 22 in the northeast corner of Albemarle shortly after 11 a.m. Tuesday, and the driver suffered minor injuries.  Albemarle Police say he had to be extricated by County Fire and Rescue, and the single-vehicle crash blocked traffic for most of the afternoon on Route 22, also known as Louisa Road.

The crash site is now cleared up, and the cause of the accident remains under investigation.  Charges are pending.
