Law enforcement agencies believe a woman who’s been missing for a year-and-a-half is probably dead. The Staunton News-Leader has revealed details of a recent search warrant that deals with 56-year-old Bonnie Santiago. Santiago (pictured) vanished in July 2014 on Carter Mountain in Albemarle County.

A warrant filed in the Augusta County Circuit Court describes a fruitless search of a septic tank that was drained in late January. The warrant states there were indications of a violent struggle in Santiago’s car. The warrant reveals blood was discovered inside the vehicle, and the rear view mirror was nearly torn off.

Some of Santiago’s personal belongings were left behind, including her heart medications, a pair of flip-flops and a cell phone.
