Albemarle County issues an immediately open burning ban

CHARLOTTESVILLE (WINA) – The Albemarle County Fire Marshal’s Office has implemented an open-air burn ban, effective immediately until further notice. The decision to issue the open-air burn ban has been made in response to the National Weather Service’s Fire Weather Watch for Albemarle County from Saturday morning until Saturday afternoon for potential of enhanced spread of wildfire.

After careful consideration of current weather conditions, and in accordance with Virginia Statewide Fire Prevention and Albemarle County Code. The Fire Weather Watch issued to the combination of conditions, including strong gusty winds.
