Registrars Can Help With Photo IDs

Photo: WINA

The Albemarle Voter Registrar and a member of the County Electoral Board have discussed Virginia’s new photo ID law with the Albemarle Supervisors. Registrar Jake Washburne (pictured) says his office and others across the Commonwealth have new equipment that can help qualified voters who don’t already have a photo ID. Clara Belle Wheeler of the County Electoral Board says a recent report in the Washington Post grossly exaggerated the number of Virginians who don’t have a photo ID. Wheeler says the actual number is below 45,000.
