Arrest in Albemarle murder

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, VA – Early this morning, Albemarle County Police Department arrested James Elliott Fitch, age 58, of Charlottesville. Mr. Fitch is charged with murder in the second degree of Yvette Fitch on Saturday, November 21st, 2020.

No further information will be released.

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, VA – On November 21, 2020, at approximately 9:35 pm, Albemarle County Police officers responded to a reported shooting on the 5400 block of Wingspread Lane. Upon arrival, officers found Yvette Fitch, 55 years old, of Charlottesville, deceased. A suspect is under investigation and there is no threat to the community at this time.
