Beer To Be Sold to Some VT Football Fans

Some Virginia Tech football fans will be able to buy a beer while attending games at Lane Stadium. Beer and wine will be available this season for the indoor club seats.

Virginia Tech athletics spokesman Pete Moris says alcohol will only be available in the club seats. That represents about 2% of all ticket holders in Lane. A club seat goes for $2,350. That includes $500 for a scholarship donation, a $1500 capital improvement gift and the $350 season ticket.

The action is part of a trend as college athletic departments look to generate more revenue.
