Albemarle County Police News Release

On Tuesday, January 22, 2019, Detectives with the Albemarle County Police Department’s Cyber Crimes Unit arrested 58-year-old Forrest Butler of Charlottesville, Virginia. Butler has been charged with two felony counts of 18.2-374.1:1- Distribution of Child Pornography. This criminal investigation is part of the Albemarle County Police Department’s continued efforts in combating the exploitation of children. Forrest Butler is currently being held at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail.

Anyone with information regarding this case is encouraged to call Detective Mike Wells at 434-296-5807. This is an ongoing criminal investigation and no additional information will be released at this time. Any further inquiries should be directed towards the Albemarle County Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney.
