Consultant report shows Charlottesville employee compensation market competitive

CHARLOTTESVILLE (WINA) – City Council learned during a consultant’s city compensation study report that Charlottesville’s actually not doing too badly. Mayor Lloyd Snook told Morning News the report comparing Charlottesville compensation to 24 other Virginia localities, as well as some private entities, shows Charlottesville market competitive. However, he’d like to see more detail.

Councilor Brian Pinkston was concerned while the survey compared Charlottesville to other localities and the private sector… compensation was not compared with UVa’s. Mayor Snook also said the report doesn’t speak of the impact of the proposed 6% pay raise in the 2024 budget.
