Father, son charged in Albemarle cold murder case

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WINA) – An Albemarle County father and son are under arrest for the murder of a man who went missing 14 years ago.

Jesse Morgan Hicks was reported missing on September 1, 2018. The Fluvanna County man’s body was recovered in Albemarle on May 7, 2014.

Under arrest and being held without bond are 56-year-old Richard Glen Spradlin and his son 34-year old Kevin Michael Moore.

The Albemarle County Police Department has arrested 56-year-old Richard Glen Spradlin and his son 34-year old Kevin Michael Moore of Albemarle County. Each have been charged with on one felony count of First-Degree Murder, one Felony count of Conspiracy to Commit Murder, and one Felony Count of Using a Firearm in Commission of a felony.

These arrests are in connection to the Murder of Jesse Morgan Hicks. Jesse Hicks was reported missing to the Fluvanna County Sheriff’s Office on September 1st, 2004. His remains were discovered in Albemarle County on May 7th, 2014.

Both Subjects are being held without bond at the Albemarle County Regional Jail. Any further inquiry regarding this case should be directed to the Albemarle County Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney.
