A fire heavily damaged a detached garage Sunday in the 1200-block of Pounding Creek Road near Batesville. The Albemarle Fire Marshal’s Office says the fire caused $77,000 damage to the garage along with a storage trailer and its contents.
It’s also being blamed for heat-related damage to the siding on the main structure. The fire was discovered shortly after noon Sunday, and there were no injuries.
