Former Boy Scout Leader Guilty Of Child Sex Crimes

A former local Boy Scout leader has pleaded guilty to sex crimes involving children. During a hearing Wednesday in Albemarle Circuit Court, David Brian Watkins (pictured) pleaded guilty to 36 counts of carnal knowledge of children between the ages of 13 and 15. It was part of a plea deal after Watkins originally was charged with 70 counts of various offenses. The prosecution is asking for a prison term of more than 30 years as part of the plea agreement. Watkins is scheduled to be sentenced on April 25th.
