Get ready for nighttime lane closures that begin Monday evening on Albemarle’s busiest street. VDOT contractors will update the 29 North traffic signals at seven intersections between Hydraulic Road and Rio Road. The teams will adjust the vehicle detection equipment that’s already in place along Route 29. The lane closures will happen between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. and should continue for several months. The contractors will also tackle daytime projects, such as the installation of fiber cables between the intersections. They will not shut down any traffic lanes for those daytime assignments.
