The House now wants to keep brass knuckles illegal. Delegates originally approved a bill that would get rid of the ban against weapons such as brass knuckles, throwing stars and switchblades. But now the House of Delegates has changed its mind. The bill that would remove the restrictions was rejected a second time around.
The measure is sponsored by State Senator Tom Garrett of Louisa. It got through the Senate.
Supporters say it’s unfair that handguns are legal but some other types of weapons are not. Opponents say making those weapons legal would hurt public safety.
