Jonnie Williams has told a federal jury at the Bob and Maureen McDonnell trial there are limits to his generosity. The star witness for the prosecution testified Thursday he lavished gifts on the former first couple in exchange for promotion of his products. Williams says when Maureen McDonnell (pictured left) asked him to buy her daughter a car and sell her a Range Rover at a discount so one of her sons could drive it to UVA he declined. Williams has also testified it was a mistake for him to buy a Rolex watch in California and give it to Maureen McDonnell so she could give to Virginia’s 71st Governor (pictured right). Williams has also acknowledged he lied to the FBI in early 2013. He testified “I was not truthful and I told them I did not receive anything.” His testimony dominated the Thursday session at the Richmond federal courthouse.
