Long-time violinist Tinsley fired from Dave Matthews Band

CHARLOTTESVILLE (WINA) – Word from several sources that the Dave Matthews Band has fired violinist Boyd Tinsley amidst sexual harassment allegations. Tinsley had just recently taken a leave of absence from the band… but now he’s no longer with them after a lawsuit filed against him by James Frost-Winn alleging repeated incidents of sexual harassment over the last several years.

According to Rolling Stone, the suit claims Tinsley “discovered” musician Frost-Winn in 2007 playing as a street musician in San Francisco. Frost-Winn says sexual harassment occurred a number of times starting in 2011. Tinsley — who’d been with the band since 1992 — had released a statement in February he was taking a break from the band to focus on family and health “for awhile”.
