Man shot to death by VB officer was Pharrell Williams’ cousin

VIRGINIA BEACH (WINA) – Over the weekend, we learned 25-year old Donovan Lynch — who was shot to death by a Virginia Beach Police officer in incidents Friday night at the oceanfront — was a former UVa-Wise football player. And now Grammy-winning R&B recording artist Pharrell Williams posts on his social media that Lynch was his cousin.

WAVY-TV in Portsmouth reports Lynch was reportedly armed during Friday night’s chaos from which police say there were three seperate shooting incidents that left Lynch and a woman dead and eight others wounded. The woman’s identity has not yet been released.

Meanwhile, 3 men charged in the melee had an initial Monday court appearance where a judge reviewed 7 malicious wounding charges against each.
