Patrick Estes for Albemarle County Sheriff News Release

CROZET, VA — Former UVA football, NFL alum, and Crozet resident Patrick Estes officially launched his campaign for the Democratic nomination for Albemarle County Sheriff today. Estes’ campaign is highlighting bold, transparent leadership that focuses on new needs for Albemarle County and the opportunity to begin important initiatives in the Sheriff’s Office.

“It’s time to discuss green energy options, strategies for addressing the opioid epidemic, expanding outreach to our schools, and enhancing relationships with state and local partners,” Estes said. “As an elected official, Albemarle’s Sheriff must be leading on these and more issues.”

Estes noted that Albemarle County is ready for a younger, progressive leader, and 2019 is an opportunity to push the conversation on what a countywide official can do from the Sheriff’s office.

Patrick Estes’ official campaign kickoff event will be held Thursday, February 21st from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Pro Re Nata Brewery (6135 Rockfish Gap Turpike, Crozet, VA 22932). All are encouraged to attend to meet Patrick and his family, hear from supporters, and learn how they can get involved in the campaign.

About Patrick: A native Virginian, University of Virginia alumnus (College ‘04), and former Buffalo Bills and San Francisco 49ers offensive lineman, Patrick and his wife Lauren are raising their three children in Crozet, VA. Patrick has served in law enforcement as a field training officer, narcotics detective, homeland security and special events detective, and is currently the Regional Director for RMC Events. These experiences have allowed Patrick to work with local and state public safety agencies to coordinate events in Albemarle County, across the Commonwealth, and in other parts of the country.
