Charlottesville Police say a male pedestrian was hit by a vehicle early Sunday at the intersection of McIntire Road and Harris Street. Police say the victim, who’s in his late 50’s, was still in the roadway when officers arrived shortly before 6 a.m. Sunday.
A team from the Rescue Squad transported the victim to the UVA Medical Center (pictured), where he’s listed in critical but stable condition. The driver remained at the scene and was interviewed by officers.
Police say there were no indications of drug or alcohol use by the driver or the man who was struck. Investigators plan to ask the pedestrian more questions once his condition improves.
