The Proffit Road bridge is closing for a month. The bridge over the railroad tracks is shutting down between October 19th and November 20th. VDOT will replace the timbers on the bridge. But the width and the 16-ton weight limit will remain.
The bridge on Proffit Road is near the intersection with Polo Grounds Road. A detour will be set up using 20 North and Watts Passage.
