Taylor Tells Judge He’s Not Guilty Of Murder

The man who’s accused of murdering teenager Alexis Murphy of Shipman pleaded not guilty Thursday, and Nelson County’s lead prosecutor says he will pursue the case despite Murphy’s body not having been found.  48-year-old Randy Taylor has told Circuit Court Judge Michael Gamble he’s not guilty of first-degree murder and abduction. Taylor (pictured) is accused of killing the 17-year-old Murphy, who was not been seen since August 3rd. A seven-woman, five-man jury has been seated to hear the case. Members of Murphy’s family attended the Thursday court session. Taylor’s trial is scehduled to last two weeks.
