UVA’s President Began College Days At Michigan State

The University of Virginia’s first opponent in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament is Michigan State University. One Wahoo who does not need a crash course on what’s up with these Michigan State Spartans is UVA President Teresa Sullivan (pictured in red). Sullivan is a 1970 alumna of the East Lansing, Michigan school. Here’s another ironic footnote.  The teams that got to join UVA and Michigan State in New York as the East regional members of the Sweet 16 represent Connecticut and Iowa State. A past leader of the University of Connecticut is UVA President Emeritus John Casteen, who was the “U-Conn” President from 1985-90.
