Three Charlottesville area residents identified as those dead in an I-64 crash outside Richmond

GOOCHLAND (WINA) – State Police identify three killed in a single vehicle I-64 crash Monday morning in Goochland County as Charlottesville area residents. State Police have released the identities of 28-year old Jarone Lewis and 27-year old DeJuan Lewis of Culpeper, and 23-year old Michelle Foster of Orange as the three killed. The crash is still under investigation.

Investigators don’t know why, but say Jarone was driving the 2015 Ford Focus westbound at milemaker 173 — about 15 miles west of Richmond near the Rockville-Manakin exit — when it ran off the right side of the road, behind a guardrail, and smashed into several trees. Neither Jarone nor front-seat passenger DeJuan were wearing seat belts and they were thrown from the car. Foster was in the back seat wearing her seat belt. However, all three died at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
