Three of eight shot in Harrisonburg transferred to UVa

HARRISONBURG (WINA) – Three of eight people shot at a Harrisonburg outdoor gathering early Sunday morning near JMU are being treated at UVa. Harrisonburg Police have arrested 20-year old Tyreaf Isaiah Fleming of Harrisonburg after the shooting in the 1500 block of Devon Lane left 8 individuals with non-life threatening wounds.

It happened shortly before 2:30 Sunday morning when a suspect or some suspects fired shots into a gathered crowd. Patients ranged in age from 18-to-27… 5 were treated at Sentara Rockingham Memorial Hospital, and 3 were transferred to UVa.

Fleming is charged right now with attempted murder, aggravated malicious wounding, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. HPD is investigating motive, and to see if there are any more suspects involved.
