UVA Class Of 2018 Gets Summer Orientation

It’s a signal to many people that summer vacation periods will only last another five weeks or so. Many members of the University of Virginia Class of 2018 got a two-day taste of the Wahoo life Thursday and Friday during summer orientation on the Grounds. Most are teenagers who wrapped up their high school careers in the spring. They learned more about life in an Alderman or McCormick Road dorm, and how to get to and from the Corner business district. The actual move-in days, which many locals call “the invasion of the first years”, will happen in late August. That’s when families learn how fast they can unload an SUV and tote the new students’ clothes and electronic equipment (pictured) to a dorm room.
