A new regional partnership has been formed between the University of Virginia Health System and Novant Health. It covers several medical facilities in Northern Virginia. The new name is Novant Health UVA Health System.
It joins UVA Culpeper Hospital with Novant Health Haymarket Medical Center, Novant Health Prince William Medical Center, Novant Health Caton Merchant House, Novant Health Cancer Center and Novant Health physician clinics.
Melissa Robson, president of Novant Health’s Northern Virginia market, will serve as CEO for the regional health system. Other CEOs and presidents will keep their jobs. Under the agreement, each of the hospitals will continue to employ all existing staff.
Novant Health is based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Novant has 60% ownership and UVA Health System has 40% ownership of the joint operating company.
