(CHARLOTTESVILLE – WINA)   An outgoing member of the current City Council is not making a complete split with political activity.   Wes Bellamy has become the chairman of the political science department at Virginia State University near Petersburg.

Bellamy has been teaching political science courses at VSU during a part of his term as a council.   When Bellamy first joined the council in 2016 he was a teacher at Albemarle High School but he resigned that position following criticism of some of his social media posts.
