ACPD charges Charlottesville man in Peyton Dr. incident

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW)- Albemarle County Police have charged 18-year-old Jaqaruis R. Michie of Charlottesville with attempted malicious wounding, gang participation, and use of a firearm in commission of a felony stemming from in incident last month.

The three charges are in connection with a June 17 incident in the 2400 block of Peyton Drive.  At 12:45 a.m., officers responded to shots fired reports and found shell casings and property damage.  No one was injured in the incident. 

Michie is currently incarcerated at Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail on different charges unrelated to the Peyton Drive incident. 

On June 6, Michie was charged with felony drug possession, resisting arrest with force, eluding police and failing to stop at the scene of accident, according to online court records.
