ACPD makes arrests targeting solicitation of minors

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW)- The Albemarle County Police Department has made two arrests following an online operation to thwart solicitation of minors.  

20-year-old Amanullah Ahmedzay, of Charlottesville, and 32-year-old Daniel W. Baer of Crozet, were detained after officers engaged with them over several online platforms over the course of a three-day operation.   

Ahmedzay is charged with one felony count of using a computer for sexual offense with a minor. Baer has been charged with one felony count of indecent liberties with a child under the age of 15, as well as a felony count of use of a computer for sexual offense with a minor.   

Both men are being held at Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail without bond.
