ACPD makes firearm arrest at Scottsville Elementary

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Albemarle County Police have arrested Christopher J. Kirtley, a 35-year-old Buckingham man, who was found with a firearm in his vehicle outside Scottsville Elementary School on Friday, the ACPD announced.

Officers were dispatched to the school for a report of a domestic dispute at approximately 11:15 a.m. While investigating the incident, officers spoke with one of the individuals involved, who told the officers that he had a firearm in his vehicle.

Officers secured the weapon and took Kirtley into custody without incident. He has been charged with felony possession of a firearm on school property. He is being held without bond at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail.
