CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Michael Joseph Hallahan, a Charlottesville attorney, has been suspended from practicing law in Virginia for 120 days by the Charlottesville Circuit Court. The suspension began on December 9, 2024. According to the Virginia State Bar, Hallahan was disciplined for violations of professional rules, including those “that govern candor toward the tribunal and misconduct.”

In addition to his legal career, Hallahan ran for the Republican nomination for the Scottsville District seat on the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors in 2019.

The Virginia State Bar has advised clients who believe they have experienced financial losses due to actions by suspended or disbarred attorneys to seek help through its Clients’ Protection Fund. More details can be found on the Virginia State Bar’s website at vsb.org.
