Charlottesville, VA (cvillerightnow.com / NBC29): In what will be it’s 75th year of operation, a Charlottesville institution will be changing hands for the third time.  As first reported by NBC29’s Maggie Glass, Eljo’s of Charlottesville will have new owners on February 15th of 2025.  Myles Thurston, the store’s current owner, worked his way up beginning in 1964, when it was owned by its founders, UVA alumnae Eli and Jo Hyman. Thurston, who bought Eljo’s in 1984, put the store up for sale in September of this year, and has assured customers the new owner will keep the Eljo’s name.  For now, Thurston has declined to identify the new owner publicly
