CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – VDOT is reminding drivers of the closure starting Monday to thru-traffic of the Hydraulic and Hillsdale intersection for about a month. VDOT Hydraulic Roadway project manager Will Stowe says they’ll be building a roundabout to replace the signaled, t-intersection reduce travel times by 20-to-30-percent… and provide space for walkers and bikers. But to do so, they’ll be closing that intersection.

The closure will be through no later than August 13, since the project must be finished before the August 14 start of school. There will still be access to the Kroger and Whole Foods off Hydraulic. A detour will set up using the 250 Bypass-Emmet Street interchange.
