CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Buckingham Palace has released plans for King Charles III and Queen Camilla’s visit to the United States, a trip that includes stops in Virginia, Washington, DC, New York, and Bermuda, later this month.

The Royal Family Instagram page announced the United States and Bermuda visits will be Monday, April 27 through Saturday, May 2.

They’ll be in the U.S. April 27-30, then Queen Camilla returns to the U.K. as King Charles visits Bermuda May 1 and 2.

The Palace hasn’t released specific locations in Virginia but announced the King will visit “a U.S. National Park” in Virginia, while the Queen visits a local farm involved in the horse racing industry.

Virginia has several locations that could be included in Shenandoah National Park, Colonial National Historical Park, Appomattox Court House, or the Maggie Walker National Historic Site.

The royal couple will also watch performances by Appalachian cultural groups and will also attend an America 250 “block party”.

Prior to coming to Virginia, the King and Queen will go to Washington D.C. where President Trump and First Lady Melania will spend time with them, and the King will address a joint session of Congress.

In New York, they’ll commemorate those who lost their lives September 11, 2001, and meet first responders and their families.

They’ll separate for the King to visit an organization that does a sustainable urban farming program to mentor children suffering food insecurity, and the Queen will go to a literature event that celebrates A.A. Milne on the 100th birthday of Winnie the Pooh.

Specifics are scant, as Buckingham Palace media handlers post “an operational note with details about the engagement is released approximately 5-10 days prior to the event by Royal Communications.”
