FORK UNION, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – UPDATE: State Police say a 37-year old man is dead after being shot by sheriff’s deputies responding to a domestic incident Friday in Fork Union. Deputies were called Friday to an “armed domestic disturbance” in the 400 block of Gravel Hill Road. During the incident, a subject was found to be hiding inside a wall in the structure. State Police say when deputies attempted to remove the suspect, the suspect fired at the deputies, and they returned fire. The suspect, 37-year old Kenneth Wayne Foster, was later pronounced deceased and a firearm was located nearby. The deputies are on administrative leave with pay during the State Police investigation, and State Police have turned over their findings to the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office for final review and adjudication.

State Police is conducting an investigation of what the Fluvanna County Sheriff’s Department describes as an officer-involved shooting Friday. The Fluvanna sheriff’s release is vague and doesn’t say a time but says deputies responded to a domestic disturbance Friday in the 400 block of Gravel Hill Road in Fork Union. While investigating the scene and searching for a wanted individual, deputies were involved in an officer-involved shooting. No details on whether it was an officer shooting a subject, or a subject shooting a deputy… or both, and no condition given on whomever was shot.

The Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation was called to the scene to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the incident. No further details are available at this time, and CvilleRightNow has reached out to State Police for more.
