CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Repairs to bridge beams damaged by a vehicle that struck the Old Ivy Road bridge over the 29 bypass are complete and the bridge is back open eastbound as construction continues. Delays had been extensive eastbound 250 during the closure, reaching back as far as Ivy.

The bridge had been closed to allow crews to perform additional repair work to a bridge beam that were damaged earlier last week in that bridge strike. All work and inspections are now complete, and the bridge is open to traffic.
