CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The Augusta County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help finding a stolen piece of equipment and the thief or thieves. The office said in a release someone stole a skid steer from a property located off Cold Springs Rd. in the Raphine area of the county.

The theft occurred sometime between July 16-20.

The sheriff’s office urged anyone who saw any suspicious activity in that area during that time frame, or has any information about the theft or whereabouts of the piece of equipment, to contact them at 540-245-5333.

No other information is available at this time.

Depending on the size, a skid steer can weigh between 3,000 and 10,000 pounds.
