CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (AP/WTOP/CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The University of Virginia tells DC’s WTOP of a third suspended fraternity due to hazing allegations in addition to two previously revealed, and one who’s Fraternal Order Agreement was terminated. UVa says Kappa Sigma is also temporarily suspended pending investigation into hazing, in addition to Theta Chi and Sigma Alpha Mu.

Earlier this week, the University and Cavalier Daily reported the latter two suspensions, and Justin Buck with Pi Kappa Alpha’s FOA at UVa is terminated for a minimum of 4 years. In inquiries from the Associated Press, UVa’s Bethanie Glover said Pi Kappa had “engaged in serious hazing behavior”, and the university has begun disciplinary actions against individuals involved. Pi Kappa says they’re initiating civil litigation against the individuals, as well.

Theta Chi in a statement to A-P said staff members have been in contact with the University and chapter leaders and are gathering facts.
Sigma Mu says it issued a temporary suspension of operations and sent staff members to UVa to investigate allegations of “lower-level hazing”.
Kappa Sigma has not responded.

The Associated Press and WTOP contributed to this report.

After-work happy hours, corporate parties and client meetings at fancy bars are still expected in many areas of American corporate culture.
