Wahoo Rundown: Women’s lax assistant in net for Germany at World Championship

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) — Virginia women’s lacrosse assistant coach Kady Glynn will be playing in net for Germany at the 2026 Nissin Foods World Lacrosse Women’s Championship in Tokyo beginning Friday, July 24.   

Glynn has worked as a goalkeeping specialist for Sonia LaMonica’s staff since July 2025 after a stint as an assistant coach at Richmond. Glynn is the keeper for the Boston Guard in the WLL, which launched last year.

She has already represented Germany once in her professional career, playing in net during the 2024 World Lacrosse Box Championships in Utica, New York. 

Glynn and Germany will play against Wales, Australia, and Canada in Pool B, which runs until July 28. 16 teams in four pools face each other in the group stage before the knockouts begin July 29. The bronze and gold medal games will be played on August 2.   

Field Hockey 

UVA field hockey head coach Ole Keusgen has named Brendan Creed to his staff as an assistant coach. Creed has 144 caps for Great Britain in International Competition, starring in Britain’s 5th place finish at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. 

Before coming to Charlottesville, Creed occupied a post as the High-Performance Coach for the U.S. Men’s National Field Hockey Team.  

“[Brendan] brings incredible leadership and knowledge of the game as well as extensive international experience to our staff which will be a great asset for our player development and to the success of our program.” Keusgen said of the addition.   

The Cavalier will start their season August 13 in exhibition action against American University.
