CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLERIGHTNOW) – Whether you’re looking to take in cinematic short films, indie-folk brilliance, or a string-backed Coldplay tribute, there’s plenty to explore across the region. Each week, Anand Harsh of 106.1 The Corner will direct your attention to the music and arts events happening in Charlottesville and surrounding areas that you absolutely can’t miss. These are, at the very minimum, shows you should hit if you’re in the neighborhood—all the way up to cancel-your-plans, call the sitter, and buy your tickets right now.

CALL THE SITTER

  • Feb 3: Lettuce @ Jefferson Theater
There is not a funkier band on the planet than Lettuce. They did a Jerry Garcia Band tribute a few years ago at Lock’n and both Bob Weir and John Mayer sat-in. The latter was there all night until they finally had to stop playing. It’s a nonstop party when Lettuce is in town.

GET YOUR TICKETS

  • Feb 7: David Foster & Katharine McPhee @ The Paramount Theater
David Foster is one of the most legendary songwriters on the planet. He’s penned tunes for Chicago, Whitney Houston, Hall & Oates, and so many more. If the 16 Grammys isn’t enough, Katharine McPhee is also there.

CHECK IT OUT

  • Feb 7: ZOSO @ Jefferson Theater
Look, ZOSO is the closest you’re ever going to get to seeing Led Zepplin live. I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news. But they do a great job and you know and love all of the songs, so just close your eyes and it feels like the real thing. Promise.
