West Virginia man indicted in Fluvanna County for criminal activity with minors

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW)- A Fluvanna grand jury has indicted Randolph Scott Garr of Weston, West Virginia, for crimes allegedly committed against minors in Fluvanna County in 2014. 

Garr is charged with two counts of child cruelty, one count of strangulation resulting in injury or wounding and one count of sodomy with a victim less than 13 years of age. 

Fluvanna County Sheriff’s Office investigators, working with members of the West Virginia State Police Violent Crimes Task Force, took Garr into custody without incident at his home in West Virginia on Friday.  He is awaiting extradition to Virginia. 

Investigators have identified the possibility of additional victims as their work continues. Outside of Central Virginia, Garr also in Halifax, North Carolina, and Buckhannon, West Virginia, where he may have access to children in multiple jurisdictions according to the Fluvanna County Sheriff’s office.  Anyone with knowledge that would help the case is asked the call the Sheriff’s Office at 434-589-8211.
