Wednesday 10/17 News At Noon

  • Syml–“Clean Eyes”: Seattle producer and artist Brian Fennel’s new single. He wrote the song to express his least favorite thing about himself, that he’s a cynic. He has a West Coast tour lined up but an East Coast one is still TBD. 
  • Girlpool–“Lucy’s”: Girlpool is the LA duo of Cleo Tucker and Harmony Tividad. The song is about a past relationship and Tucker says, “I wrote this a couple of years ago to sort through some droning thoughts about hope, distraction, and love. 
  • Brandi Carlile–“Party of One” Feat. Sam Smith: A reworking of the track from By The Way, I Forgive You. A portion of the profits of the song’s sales will go to Children In Conflict via Brandi’s Looking Out foundation as part of its ongoing campaign to raise $1 million for children impacted by war. 

Wednesday 10/17 Two For The Road

  • Lowland Hum–“Salzburg Summer”: The local husband and wife duo of Lauren and Daniel Goans produce, write, and arrange all of their own music. 
  • Young The Giant–“Superposition”: The new single from their latest album, Mirror Master, that came out on Friday. They’re in Richmond on November 4th. 

Thursday 10/18 News At Noon

  • Bad Religion–“The Profane Rights of Man”: This song is a worried look at the state of human rights in America based on the Universal Rights of Man document from 1789. The band is currently in the studio working on new material. 
  • Jynx–“I Keep The Lights On”: Jynx is the musical union of self-proclaimed “art freaks” Kii Arens and Harlow Black. The two met at a Cherie Currie concert and are signed to Linda Perry’s label, Rockstar Records. 
  • Justin Courtney Pierre–“Shoulder The Weight”: The lead singer of Motion City Soundtrack’s debut solo record, In The Drink, dropped on Friday and was produced by Motion City guitarist Joshua Cain.
