  • Judah & The Lion–“Over My Head”: The Nashville 3-piece hint that there is a new record coming and are playing Hangout Fest in May. 
  • Antonioni–“Easy Listener”: The new 5-song EP The Odds Were All Beating Me was produced by Rick Hoag and mastered by Levi Seitz (Pearl Jam). 
  • Methyl Ethel–“Trip The Mains”: Methyl Ethyl’s latest effort, Triage, drops on February 15th.

  • Seth Walker–“All I Need To Know”: Taken from the new album Are You Open who was produced by Jano Rix of The Wood Brothers.
  • Jealous Of The Birds–“Blue Eyes”: Dublin artist Naomi Hamiltons new EP Wisdom Teeth drops on February 1st.

Monday 1/21 News At Noon

  • Max Jury–“Sweet Lie”: The 26 year old Iowa Native’s sophomore release Modern World drops on May 31st and was produced by 4-time Grammy nominee Robin Hannibal (Anderson Paak, Kendrick Lamar, Jessie Ware, The Internet). Jury wrote 100 songs during the process but whittled it down to 10. 
  • Son Volt–“Devil May Care”: Uncle Tupelo alum Jay Farrar and co.’s 9th album Union is out March 29th. 4 of the tracks on the record were recorded at the Woody Guthrie center in Tulsa, Oklahoma and the band will be in Richmond on May 7th. 
  • Glen Hansard–“I’ll Be You, Be Me”: Dublin busker and star of the film-turned-Broadway Musical Once is back with his upcoming 4th album This Wild Willing which is set for an April 12th release. It was conceived in Paris.

Tuesday 1/22 News At Noon

  • Bear Hands–“Blue Lips” Feat. Ursula Rose: The Brooklyn band are opening for Walk The Moon currently including a date in Richmond on February 5th. Lead singer Dylan Rau says the song is about “listening to someone’s problems over and over until you die and your lips turn blue”. The video is out now and was sfilmed after Dylan Rau and Ursula Rose ended their three year relationship.
  • Stephen Malkmus–“Viktor Borgia”: Stephen Malkmus of Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks and Pavement fame’s first solo album since 2001, Groove Denied, drops on March 5th and was inspired by his time living in Berlin. The video stars Malkmus alone dancing in a club until he turns into an avatar and battles a bunch of other avatars. 
  • Moving Panoramas–“ADD Heart”: The band began with Leslie Sisson solo in Brooklyn and is now based in Austin. The upcoming sophomore album In Two is set for a February 22nd release.
