Wednesday 1/9 News At Noon

  • Ryan Bingham–“Jingle And Go”: Bingham’s 6th studio album is his first in 4 years. Entitled American Love Song it was co-produced with Charlie Sexton (Bob Dylan). Bingham is starting his own festival, The Western, in Lukenbach, TX April 12-13 and will be in Dc on April 21st.
  • Lucie Silvas–“Black Jeans”: The British singer songwriter’s 4th album is called E.G.O which stands for Everybody Getes Off. She will be opening for Anderson East at The Jefferson on February 26th and will be in DC with Tom Odell on April 20th. 
  • Greensky Bluegrass –“Do It Alone”: The band has been together for 18 years, played 175 shows a year, have 1,000 different setlists, six studio albums, and multiple live records. Their upcoming studio effort All For Money comes out this year and they are playing two nights in DC on February 1st and 2nd.

  • Erthlings–“Cuts & Bruises”: The band met at music school in inner city Sydney at the age of 8, started writing together at age 9 and are 16 now. Lead singer Isabelle Lowe has synesthesia! 
  • Amanda Palmer–“Drowning In The Sound”: Amanda Palmer, also of the Dresden Dolls, has her first solo album in 6 years, There Will Be No Intermission, coming out onn March 8th. 
  • Adia Victoria–“Different Kind Of Love”: Her album Silences drops on February 22nd and was produced by Aaron Dessner of The National. Her Dope Queen tour kicks off in DC on February 19th.

  • Big Wild–“City Of Sound”: From rising producer and composer turned vocalist Jackson Stell’s debut album Superdream which drops on February 1st. 
  • Imagine Dragons–“Bad Liar”: The latest single from the Origins album was co-written by Dan reynolds and his wife Aja Volkman before they separated. However, as of New Year’s Eve they are back together. 
  • Walk The Moon–“Timebomb”: A surprise single from the Ohio band who are coming to Richmond on February 5th!

Monday 1/14 News At Noon

  • Angelo De Augustine–“Tomb”: The title track to the LA artist;s new album. He was discovered by Sufjan Stevens who signed him to his own label Asthmatic Kitty. The album was produced by Thomas Bartlett (Florence + The Machine, Sufjan Stevens, St. Vincent, The National).
  • The Murder Capital–“Feeling Fades”: The debut single from the Dublin band. Frontman James McGovern says that the band are driven by the genuine desire to affect cultural change.  
  • Oh Land–“Human Error”: Danish artist Nanna Oland Fabricius’ new record Family Tree drops on May 3rd and was also produced by Thomas Bartlett. She was a ballet dancer before she hurt her back and turned to music. This is her first release in 5 years.

Grandaddy – “Bison on the Plains”/new single inspired by “Drive” by The Cars

Tuesday 1/15 News At Noon

  • Steve Mason–“Stars Around My Heart”: The 4th solo album from The Beta Band frontman entitled About The Light is out Friday. The record was produced by Stephen Street (Cranberries, Smiths, Blur) and the video for the song is out now.
  • Kian–“Waiting”: The 16 year old Australian singer songwriter was just 14 when he wrote this song. He started to gain attention after being featured on Australian rapper Baker Boys’s song “Cloud 9”.
  • Girlpool–“What Chaos Is Imaginary”: The title track from the LA duo’s forthcoming record which drops on February 1st. Girlpool is Harmony Tividad and Cleo Tucker. Tividad says the song is about trying to find a path for forgiving yourself and attempting to redevelop a relationship with the world where you can find safety.
