Monday 4/17 News At Noon

Diet Cig–“Barf Day”: The Brooklyn duo of Noah Bowman on drums and Alex Luciano on vocals and guitar met at a house show in 2014. Bowman’s band was playing and Luciano interrupted the set to ask for a lighter. He gave her a bottle of wine instead. Then Luciano offered to make a music video for Bowman and he tattooed a daisy on her foot and they’ve played music together ever since.

NEEDTOBREATHE–“Hardlove” feat. Andra Day: The Grammy-nominated band says that the song is about the stories, relationships, triumphs and challenges that help shape how different people think about hard love. The music video is out now.

Nightlands–“Moonbathing”: From the third album from The War on Drugs’ bassist, Dave Hartley, under the name Nightlands. The album, entitled I Can Feel The Night Around Me, drops in a few months and you can catch Hartley in DC on May 19th.

Blaenavon–“Orthodox Man”: From the new album, That’s Your Lot. Expect US tour dates soon. The band is from Liphook but take their name from a town in eastern Wales.

Hazel English–“Control”: Off of  Just Give In/Never Going Home, the double EP out on May 12th. The dream-pop artists is from Melbourne, Aus. by way of Oakland, CA.

Neil Nathan–“Further”: Taken from his new album, Flowers To The Moon. He started recording the  album in Brooklyn, where he is from, but it was mixed and the vocals were recorded in Atlanta. He is best known for his folk cover of E.L.O & The Move, “Do Ya”.
