Wednesday 4/26 News At Noon

Mac DeMarco–“On The Level”: There is less than month until his new album This Old Dog, comes out. He will be in DC for two nights in May–the 23rd and 24th. He’ll be at Lollapalooza, Boston Calling, Hangout and he just played Coachella.

Ships In The Night–“Deathless”: Local act Ships In The Night is the moniker of Alethea Leventhal whose new album Myriologues out Friday. There is a release party, Witches Prom,  at The Southern with Shagwitch (Shagwuf) and DJ Cadybug .

Tigers Jaw–“June”: Off of the fifth full-length from the Scranton, PA indie rock band. They will be playing a show in Richmond on the 22nd of May.

Surf Vietnam–“Compelling At Times”: The Boston band is somewhat of a super group, consisting of members of Air Traffic Controller and PARKS. They have one album out now, Funambulism, and a new one on the way.

John Moreland–“Salisaw Blue”: The newest single from John Morelands new album, Big Bad Luv, out May 5th. He played in punk and hardcore bands in high school until he discovered country & folk.

Hoan–“Ways To Love: From the debut album, Modern Phase, out tomorrow. The Montral quartet formed in 2015 and are “making the world into melody continuously.”

Phoenix – “J-Boy”/Ti Amo (out 6/9)

Foster the People – “Doing It For The Money”/new album this summer

Friday, 4/28 News At Noon

Blink-182–“6/8” Off of the deluxe version of California, dropping May 19th, which includes 10 new songs. This is the 4th so far. The band says, “This is the strangest song Blink have ever recorded. It’s in 6/8 time. It’s aggressive and one of our favorites from the deluxe because of it.”

Julian Taylor–“Chemical Low”: The Canadian singer-songwriter has been performing solo since the break up of his band, Staggered Crossing, in ’07. The Toronto native calls himself, “a pilgrim of funk, soul & roll”.

RIDE–“All I Want”: Taken from the forthcoming album, Weather Diaries, set for a June 16th release. It is the shoegaze pioneers’ 5th album overall and their first in 21 years. The British band broke up in ’96 and Any–the vocalist and guitarist–went on to play bass in Oasis.

Amy Shark–“Adore”: The Australian video editor, producer and singer-songwriter’s real name is Amy Billings. She has a US tour in June including a stop in DC on June 1st.

Bleachers–“Hate That you Know Me” Feat. Carly Rae Jepsen: The new album, Gone Now, is out June 2nd and Bleachers have a tour stop with Muna in Richmond on June 13th.

Twin Wild–“Control”: The new single from the 4-piece British Band of Edward Thomas on bass, vocalist Richard Hutchinson, David Cuzner on guitar and drummer Imran Mair that formed in 2012.
