BTC Videos of the Day – week of 6/27/16

6/27 – Dinosaur Jr. is back with a new album in August & here’s the new video for “Tiny” featuring a skateboarding bulldog!  Here’s what the video’s director Laurie Collyer had to say about the concept for this one:

“I got to know J Mascis in 2012 when we hired him to compose the score for my film, Sunlight Jr., a love story set among the ruins of the American dream starring Matt Dillon and Naomi Watts. J is nothing short of a creative genius. In the years since our work on this film, I got to know J as a friend. And what I learned is that, aside from music, J Mascis has other passions. Bulldogs and skateboarding among them. When a friend of mine told me there was such a thing as skateboarding bulldogs, I took it from there and came up with the idea for Tiny.

“J’s dog, sleeping outside his rehearsal room dreams up the perfect day with J. He wants to skate without falling down or crashing. He wants to skate with J. He waits patiently outside the roller derby for J to finish his gig. The rest is history. Enjoy Tiny!”

6/28 – In case you haven’t been one of the 8+ million views of the new Red Hot Chili Peppers video yet…watch for Flea playing bass in a sink about 2 minutes in!?

6/29 – another cool indie-rock August release comes from Wye Oak.  Perhaps a comment on our selfie-obsessed culture??

6/30 – Bat For Lashes has their 1st album in 4 years out tomorrow…here’s the new single “Sunday Love”

7/1 – The Strokes have a new EP out & a new video too for the best song on it (of 3).  Apparently it’s the 1st time in 5 years all bands members have been in a video together & apparently that’s NOT Lana Del Rey that appears about halfway through??
