Wednesday 10/3 News At Noon

  • Fox Grin–“Broken Watch”: The song is a reaction to the passage of time and the inability to change it. The duo of David Bean and Thom Chapman met as members of the Pack Life Collective in Atlanta and are based in Nashville now. Their record is called King of Spades.
  • Olivia Fox–“Easy”: The folk/pop trio from Kansas City, Missouri have toured with X Ambassadors and Ben Rector.
  • Villagers–“Fool”: From Conor O’Brien’s fourth album the art of pretending to swim. Villagers have played Newport Folk and toured with Paul Weller, Calexico, John Grant, and more. In addition, they were recently featured on HBO’s Big Little Lies.

  • Bay Ledges–“Wherever You Sleep”: The brother/sister duo of Zach and Georgia Hurd will be at The Southern on November 10th.

  • Haerts–“Your Love”: Munich’s lifelong personal and musical partners Nini Fabi and Benny Gebert’s new album, New Compassion, dropped today and you can see them in DC on December 3rd. 
  • Teddy<3–“Body & Soul”: The latest project from award-winning multi-platinum producer and songwriter, Teddy Geiger. Her upcoming album LilyAnna is out on the 26th and is her first solo effort in 5 years.
  • Chaos Chaos–“Memories”: From the soundtrack to the Adult Swim show, Rick & Morty. The first official collection contains 26 songs, 24 of which were featured on the show’s first 3 seasons.

  • Deaf Havana–“Sinner”: The English band formed in college in 2005. Their new record Rituals is out now and deals with the recurring theme of struggle and redemption. 
  • Gang of Youths–“Let Me Down Easy”: They’re currently on tour with the Foo Fighters and are headlining a show in DC on December 10th. 
  • Matthew Dear–“What You Don’t Know”: His latest effort, Bunny, drops on Friday and is his first release since 2012.

  • Yaeji–“One More”: The brand new single from Kathy Yaeji Lee. The Korean-American electronic artist was born in Flushing, moved to Atlanta, then South Korea, then Japan, then back to New York and is now based in Brooklyn. 
  • Emily King–“Remind Me”: The Grammy-nominated artist’s new album is out in February. 
  • Hovvdy–“Easy”: The Austin duo of Will Taylor and Charlie Martin are primarily drummers and their new album Cranberry is out now.
