Wednesday 3/27 News At Noon

  • Barrie–“Darjeeling”: The Brooklyn 5-piece is fronted by Barrie Lindsay who co-produced their debut, Happy To Be Here, with Jake Aron (Grizzly Bear, Snail Mail, Solange) and plays bass, guitar, synth, and piano on it.
  • Emma Hill–“Magnesium Dreams”: Emma Hill met producer Bryan Daste on Craigslist in Portland, Oregon back in 2007. Since then they have released 7 records, including the one for which this is the title track.
  • Tacocat–“Hologram”: The new full-length album This Mess Is A Place drops on May 3rd and you can catch them in DC on May 19th.

Thursday 3/28 News At Noon

  • Ra Ra Riot–“Bad To Worse”: This track was co-written with Rostam, former member of Vampire weekend, mixed by Manny Maroquin (Kanye West, Rihanna, Bruno Mars, Imagine Dragons, Sia), and mastered by Emily Lazar (Beck, Chainsmokers, Foo Fighters, Coldplay). The band is touring with Third Eye Blind and Jimmy Eat World and this song is about driving 9 hours from DC to Cape Cod.
  • Doomsquad–“Dorian’s Closet”: Toronto’s electro-psych, dance-rock sibling trio are back with a new album, Let Yourself Be Seen, dropping on May 10th. The track honors legendary drag queen Dorian Corey who you may recognize from the film Paris Is Burning.
  • Interpol–“The Weekend”: Today they announced a 5-track EP, A Fine Mess is coming on May 17th. They’re also playing the Shaky Knees Festival.

Craig Finn – “Something To Hope For”/I Need A New War (out 4/26)

Friday 3/29 News At Noon

  • Mallrat–“Groceries”: Taken from 20 year old Australian pop-rap sensation Grace Shaw’s EP In The Sky. The tune is about wanting to go grocery shopping with a crush.
  • Lee Fields & The Expressions–“It Rains Love”: The title track to Fields’ 5th album with the Expressions, though his career spans 5 decades. It was produced by Leon Michels (Jay-Z, Lana Del Rey, Beyonce, Adele).
  • Riutal Howls–“Alone Together”: The Detroit trio made up of Ben Saginaw, Paul Bancell, and Chris Samuels 4th full-length album is called Rendered Armor. Catch them in Vienna on May 15th.

Cage The Elephant with Beck – “Night Running”/Social Cues (out 4/19) this song is on Playstation MLB The Show 19; Beck/Cage/Spoon are touring together this summer

Modest Mouse – “Poison The Well”/Record Store Day single for 4/13

Monday 4/2 News At Noon

  • Angie McMahon–“Keeping Time”: The Melbourne artist’s debut album, Salt, is coming in the summer. She recently won the Gulke price at SXSW, an award that goes to a developing international artist and was previously won by Jade Bird. McMahon’s North American tour is TBA.
  • Missio–“I See You”: Known for their 2017 hit, “Middle Fingers”, the duo have a forthcoming release entitled The Darker The Weather, The Better The Man.
  • Ozwald–“As The Crow Flies”: The band features Lifehouse songwriter and frontman, Jason Wade.
