Wednesday 6/27 News At Noon

  • The Band of Heathens–“America The Beautiful”: The special 4th of July release comes from A Message From The People Revisited–A Tribute to Ray Charles, which comes out in the fall. The band recorded the record in their hometown studio in Austin, TX and will do a limited tour. Each show will feature 2 sets, one of Ray tunes and one of Heathens tunes.
  • Flora Cash–“You’re Somebody Else”: The husband and wife duo met on Soundcloud and Swedish artist Shpresa Lleshaj traveled from Stockholm to Minneapolis to meet Cole Randall in real life. They are now based in Stockholm and their debut full-length Nothing Lasts Forever (And It’s Fine) is out now.
  • Mitski–“Nobody”: Taken from her upcoming August 17th release, Be The Cowboy, has an accompanying video now and she will be in DC with Jessica Lea Mayfield on November 16th.

  • The Frights–“Me and We and I”: The San Diego quartet’s third and latest album, Hypochondriac is out on August 24th.
  • Alicia Witt–“Younger”: The first song from the actress and singer songwriter’s upcoming EP 15,000 Days which is how long she had lived when she began working on it.
